About the Random Date Generator
FastRandom's Random Date Generator picks one or more dates from any range you choose. Select a start date and an end date, then generate a random day somewhere between them.
You can generate up to 100 dates at once, exclude weekends, prevent duplicate dates, and choose how the result should be formatted.
How to Generate a Random Date
- Choose the start and end of your date range.
- Select how many random dates you want.
- Choose your preferred date format.
- Optionally exclude weekends or require unique dates.
- Click Generate Random Date.
For example, choosing January 1 to December 31 might return April 17, September 3, or any other dat inside the selected year.
What Can Random Dates Be Used For?
A random date can be useful when you want to choose a day without deciding it yourself.
- Pick a random day for a challenge or activity
- Create sample dates for programming and testing
- Choose random dates for games or writing prompts
- Select dates from a historical period
- Create randomized schedules or example datasets
- Pick a weekday while automatically excluding weekends
Weekdays and Unique Dates
Enable Weekdays only when you want the generator to skip Saturdays and Sundays. This can be useful when generating example workdays, school days, or other weekday-based dates.
If you generate several dates, enable Generate unique dates only to make sure the same date does not appear more than once.
How Are Random Dates Generated?
The generator converts your selected date range into individual calendar days and randomly chooses from those days directly in your browser.
On modern browsers, FastRandom uses the browser's Web Crypto API to obtain pseudorandom values. The selected day is then converted back into the date format you chose.
