Random Name Picker

Draw one or more names from your list, or shuffle everyone into a turn order.

Enter 1 to 100 names, one per line. Editing the list clears the current picks.

A full shuffle starts over with every name on the list.

Pick order

Names will appear here in the order they’re picked.

Draw one name or several

Paste your list with one name per line. Leave Names per draw at 1 to choose who goes first, or set it to 3 to pick three people at once. If fewer names remain, the next draw picks all of them. Each pick appears in the order it was drawn.

Each nonblank line gets one entry. If two people share a name, add a last initial so you can tell them apart. Repeating the same line gives that name a separate entry each time.

Give everyone a turn

Say you have eight people and need two volunteers at a time. Set the draw size to 2 and draw a pair whenever you need one. The picker sets aside each entry after it’s drawn, so four draws give everyone one turn. Select Start a new round when you want everyone back in the draw.

Make a full turn order

Use Shuffle full order when you need the whole lineup at once, such as a speaking order for a class or a list of who goes next in a game. It shuffles the entire list from scratch, including anyone you picked earlier.

Select Copy order to copy the numbered list as plain text. You can also copy a partial draw. Names are processed in your browser.

If you need groups instead of a turn order, use the Random Team Generator. For a game with prompts and player turns, try Truth or Dare.
